Quick answer

SSM 48659 - 2019-2020 Fusion/MKZ - Cooling Fans Inoperative Due To Open Fuses F59, F60 And F63 Some 2019-2020 Fusion/MKZ non-hybrid vehicles may exhibit an engine overheat condition or a lack of air conditioning (A/C) cooling due to one or more of the 3 cooling fan fuses being open. An intermittent cooling fan obstruction such as driving through water, snow packing or other foreign object exposure can increase fan loads resulting in one or more fuses opening. If any one of the fuses F59, F60, and/or F63 are open, replace the three fuses and test the engine cooling fans proper operation by following Pinpoint Test (PPT) KF Step KF22 in the Powertrain Control/Engine Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual. The fuses are located in the bottom side of the battery junction box (BJB). If the fan assembly works properly release the unit to the customer.

What this bulletin may mean before buying

Treat this as service research, not a verdict on one car. Before you buy, compare this communication with official recall campaigns, model-level owner complaint patterns, and the exact vehicle’s VIN-decoded specifications. A bulletin can help you ask a seller or dealer sharper questions about software updates, known repairs, warranty extensions and service history.
