2020 SENTRA; REMOTE ENGINE START STOPS RESPONDING AND DTC P161F STORED SERVICE INFORMATION The remote engine start (RES) may stop responding and DTC P161F will store in the ECM if RES is performed more than once in quick succession. EXAMPLE: 1. The RES is activated, 2. The ignition is turned OFF; either by RES timer or directly by the start button or key, 3. Within 10 seconds of performing steps 1 and 2, the ignition is turned ON with the RES, start button or key. - When using the RES feature, at least 10 seconds, or more, must elapse between ignition cycles. - If DTC P161F is stored, erase the DTC and Do Not replace the ECM. NOTE: If a customer states the RES stopped responding on a third consecutive activation attempt, please inform them the vehicle allows the RES to be performed only twice consecutively, and must be driven in excess of 5 mph before a third attempt can be performed.
