NHTSA Service Bulletin 10176489: Accuride Wheel Rim
Official manufacturer communication context for model years not specified Accuride Wheel Rim, with affected products, buyer checks and links into Carchieve recall, problem and VIN research.
Reviewed June 2026 from NHTSA manufacturer communication and service bulletin records. Carchieve is independent and not affiliated with any vehicle manufacturer or government agency.
Technical Service Bulletin sent to customers who purchased RX232 spoked wheels from Gunite Corporation. The TSB identifies an issue with a limited subset of RX232 spoked truck wheels manufactured as part of lot code L019. In the foundry process, one ladle did not properly convert the material to ductile iron resulting in a single ladle pour producing a subset of wheels that cannot withstand the torque necessary to mount the wheels to the truck. The studs will pull out of an affected wheel and/or cause the wheel spoke to crack preventing the wheels from being installed. As such, the TSB communicates that wheels which have already been properly mounted and put into use do not contain the incorrect metallurgy and can remain in service. Wheels that are part of lot code L019 can be identified by a simple visual inspection of the part and returned for warranty coverage.
What this bulletin may mean before buying
Treat this as service research, not a verdict on one car. Before you buy, compare this communication with official recall campaigns, model-level owner complaint patterns, and the exact vehicle’s VIN-decoded specifications. A bulletin can help you ask a seller or dealer sharper questions about software updates, known repairs, warranty extensions and service history.
