TECHNICAL TIP BULLETIN TT474: LIVEWIRE - POWER DISCONNECT UPDATE. PURPOSE: Revision. An update to the power disconnect procedure has been made. The wait time of 2 minutes has been increased to 5 minutes to allow for proper system shut down on Electric LiveWire (ELW). This Technical Tip reinforces the ELW power disconnect procedure found in the owner's and service manuals. The power disconnect procedure must be followed whenever removing 12 V power. Disconnecting OBC [307-2] and not waiting 5 minutes after placing the OFF/RUN switch in OFF position can cause electrical issues including, but not limited to: Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) generated. Communication errors between the modules (OBC, Electric Vehicle Power-Train (EVPT), Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS)) that may be unrecoverable requiring replacement of the part.
