Customer statement / workshop findings: The auxiliary tail lamps in the rear bumper are illuminated instead of the main tail lamps with the tailgate closed, there is no fault with the main tail lamps. Technical background: The auxiliary tail lamps are designed to illuminate under two scenarios: -When the tailgate is open and when there is a fault with the main tail lamp. -If the tailgate is closed and diagnosis has proven, byway of no DTCs, that the main tail lamps are not faulty, then the Rear lid closed sensor (G525) switch must be checked for locational and electrical integrity.
