Official manufacturer communication context for 2002-2022 Van Hool A300k, with affected products, buyer checks and links into Carchieve recall, problem and VIN research.
Reviewed June 2026 from NHTSA manufacturer communication and service bulletin records. Carchieve is independent and not affiliated with any vehicle manufacturer or government agency.
Incorrect position of high-pressure switch and test connection on refrigerant compressor discharge service valve Van Hool has determined that the position of the high-pressure switch and the test connection on the refrigerant compressor discharge service valve has been incorrectly placed during the assembly process. The result is that the high-pressure protection system of the refrigerant circuit is not working when the discharge valve is in its normal running position (refer to figure 3 for service valve positions). To address this issue, Van Hool is conducting a field change program, the terms and conditions of which are explained further on under Warranty. Owners and operators of the affected units should first check the position of the high-pressure switch and, if necessary, modify the placement.
What this bulletin may mean before buying
Treat this as service research, not a verdict on one car. Before you buy, compare this communication with official recall campaigns, model-level owner complaint patterns, and the exact vehicle’s VIN-decoded specifications. A bulletin can help you ask a seller or dealer sharper questions about software updates, known repairs, warranty extensions and service history.
