SYMPTOM: Vehicle stop due to lack of charge caused by pinched cable after engine guard assembly code 2S001281-2S001282. SOLUTION: One of the most common causes of lack of battery charge on the vehicles in question is the use of accessory engine guards code 2S00181-2S00182, because the voltage regulator cable is inadvertently pinched during installation of this accessory. Before requesting the replacement of components such as magneto-flywheel or battery be avoided, instead search for the area where the regulator cable has been pinched. The following photo shows the engine guard assembled on a vehicle and in the circled area the area where the pinching of the regulator cable occurs.
