NHTSA Service Bulletin 10246087: 2020-2023 Polaris Slingshot
Official manufacturer communication context for 2020-2023 Polaris Slingshot, with affected products, buyer checks and links into Carchieve recall, problem and VIN research.
Reviewed June 2026 from NHTSA manufacturer communication and service bulletin records. Carchieve is independent and not affiliated with any vehicle manufacturer or government agency.
Polaris has identified that some Model Year 2020+ Slingshot vehicles may exhibit a brake warning light and a shift to neutral condition on AutoDrive equipped vehicles when coming to a stop as a result of a faulty brake pressure switch. Fault codes commonly associated with these symptoms are C2144 (SPN 2584) and P150A (SPN 520275). Starting in Model Year 2024, Slingshot will use a new single switch configuration. Polaris has released a single brake pressure switch service kit that is compatible to retrofit prior model years. This Service Advisory provides instruction to update vehicles with the new single switch service kit in the event of a brake pressure switch failure.
What this bulletin may mean before buying
Treat this as service research, not a verdict on one car. Before you buy, compare this communication with official recall campaigns, model-level owner complaint patterns, and the exact vehicle’s VIN-decoded specifications. A bulletin can help you ask a seller or dealer sharper questions about software updates, known repairs, warranty extensions and service history.
