Remedy Follow guided test for U116000, if present, and perform the requested SW updates. (Refer to Li54.10-P-076896). If U116000 is not present or after the SW updates have been performed, update the SCN coding of the EZS. After, lock the vehicle and place the key >25 ft. away from the vehicle. Once the vehicle is in sleep mode, approach the vehicle with the key and verify that the key is not acknowledged (door handles extend) until roughly 13ft. from the vehicle. Once confirmed, faults can be cleared and vehicle released. *Note - Ensure the 12V battery is fully charged before releasing the vehicle to the customer. Performing the test after SCN coding in the shop, may present an amplification factor and the key will still be recognized further than 13 ft. away. If this is the case, move the vehicle outside.
What this bulletin may mean before buying
Treat this as service research, not a verdict on one car. Before you buy, compare this communication with official recall campaigns, model-level owner complaint patterns, and the exact vehicle’s VIN-decoded specifications. A bulletin can help you ask a seller or dealer sharper questions about software updates, known repairs, warranty extensions and service history.
