Quick answer

New operation required for Emira service schedule sheets. During normal road use, it has been identified that dirt/grease/road debris can accumulate around the WSS (Wheel Speed Sensors) and the magnetic rings located on the rear of the hub units. This accumulation may affect the signal being transmitted to the VDDM (Vehicle Dynamics Domain Master), also known as the ABS module, which can result in the generation of diagnostic trouble codes, activating the illumination of the amber colour MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp). ACTION To ensure continuing customer satisfaction, Lotus will update the Braking section of the V6 and 4-Cylinder Emira service schedule sheets to include a new operation to remove any loose debris on all four WSS using a suitable airline, then inspect and clean the WSS with a clean cloth and brake cleaner to remove any dirt deposits. At the same time the corresponding magnetic rings on the rear of the hub units should also be cleaned. This new procedure should be carried out at every service interval.
