MODULE Steering Control Before replacing the steering column control module (SCCM) due to turn signal inop, wipers inop, steering controls inop, TCS light DTC C0051 or horn blowing while turning, please follow these steps: 1.- Refer to service library procedure and follow diagnosis steps. 2.- If failure still present, make sure all the switches', horn's, airbag's harness are properly connected and there is no corrosion or pinching, disconnect the switches & reconnect them, and reverify the issue. 3.- Verify if failure is still present, review if there is lack of communication between SCCM and BCM. For example, activate turn signals or wipers. 4.- Read at the BCM diagnosis session if BCM is receiving information from SCCM. Through diagnosis review if activation from horn, wipers or turn signal is requested and are working. 5.- Disconnect the SCCM fuse for around 30s,and repeat the previous steps to see if failure still present. 6.- Do a hard reset to BCM and evaluate if any DTC is set. Retest if failure still present. 7.- Before replacing the SCCM disconnect it and reconnect it again. If there are no DTC's active, physical defects, steering controls inop, wipers inop, nor turn signal inop, horn inop, then SCCM does not need to be replaced.
