Quick answer

Some 2025 Explorer/Aviator vehicles may exhibit a condition where the instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays an unexpected Watch the Road warning while using BlueCruise with no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored related to the driver-assist systems. This may be due to the steering column tilt angle and/or driver seat position (height and backrest angle). Replacing components is not expected to resolve this issue. Optimize driver head position by adjusting the steering column tilt angle and driver seat position (height and backrest angle) to ensure the driver status monitor camera (DSMC) mounted on top of the steering column has a clear view of the drivers entire face from chin to forehead. Provide both Explorer and Aviator customers with a printout of the Lincoln Aviator Owners Manual page titled, Lincoln BlueCruise > How Does BlueCruise Work. The Explorer Owner's Manual is in process of being updated. If the customers symptom persists after the above adjustments have been performed, continue with normal diagnostics found in the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-03B.

What this bulletin may mean before buying

Treat this as service research, not a verdict on one car. Before you buy, compare this communication with official recall campaigns, model-level owner complaint patterns, and the exact vehicle’s VIN-decoded specifications. A bulletin can help you ask a seller or dealer sharper questions about software updates, known repairs, warranty extensions and service history.
