Quick answer

In our continuing efforts to ensure the proper performance of Mercedes-Benz products and to enhance the satisfaction of our customers, Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC is extending the warranty coverage on the pressure transducer, vacuum pump, and vacuum lines in certain Model Year (MY) vehicles listed below from the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 4 years/50,000 miles to 15 years/150,000 miles, whichever occurs first. This extended warranty applies to the condition described below that may necessitate the repair or replacement of components related to the pressure transducer, vacuum pump, and vacuum lines. If the vacuum pump leaks, the oil could contaminate the pressure transducer and cause it to malfunction. This would result in inconsistent turbocharger pressure and cause a check engine malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) to be illuminated and the vehicle could switch to limp-home mode.

What this bulletin may mean before buying

Treat this as service research, not a verdict on one car. Before you buy, compare this communication with official recall campaigns, model-level owner complaint patterns, and the exact vehicle’s VIN-decoded specifications. A bulletin can help you ask a seller or dealer sharper questions about software updates, known repairs, warranty extensions and service history.
