SAAB HAS BECOME AWARE OF SITUATIONS WHERE IT HAS BEEN IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE THE PRESSURE SWITCH WITHOUT DESTROYING THE THREADS IN THE ABS PUMP HOUSING. GALVANIC ACTION BETWEEN THE CAST IRON HOUSING AND THE ALUMINUM SWITCH CAN CREATE THIS PROBLEM. BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO REPLACE ANY ABS PRESSURE SWITCH, TRY TO FIRST CLEAN OFF ANY CORROSION ON THE ABS PRESSURE SWITCH TERMINALS. THIS SHOULD BE EFFECTIVE WHERE THERE WERE NO EXISTING ABS PROBLEMS OR ILLUMINATION OF THE ABS WARNING LAMP. IN RARE CASES OF SEVERE CORROSION THAT MAKES THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PRESSURE SWITCH NECESSARY, DO NOT FORCE A SWITCH THAT WILL NOT UNSCREW UNDER NORMAL TORQUE. DESTRUCTION OF THE THREADS IN THE ABS PUMP HOUSING WILL REQUIRE THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ABS ASSEMBLY. *SD
